Su Shi (A.D. 1037- A.D.101), a Dongpo layman, was a scholar in the second year of Jiayou (A.D. 1057). Su Shi worked in Fengxiang and Hangzhou during the reign of Song Shenzong.

Zhang Huaimin and Su Shi were both officials in the Northern Song Dynasty. In the sixth year of Yuanfeng (AD 1083), they were exiled to Huangzhou, Song Shenzong, three years later than Su Shi. At first, they lived in Chengtian Temple (now south of Huanggang County, Hubei Province). Su Shi and Zhang Huaimin are close friends, and their feelings are more sincere and profound because they have been demoted to Huangzhou.

Su Shi once wrote Night Tour in Chengtian Temple, which was about him and Zhang Huaimin. The main idea of this poem is that Su Shi was full of thoughts on the bright moon night, and suddenly remembered Zhang Huaimin, who was also in Huangzhou, and went straight to Chengtian Temple. Just Zhang Huaimin didn't fall asleep, so they went to Chengtian Temple for a night outing and observed the surrounding night scene while walking. Su Shi wrote this poem with a sigh from poetry and ode to the last physiological thought of human beings, and also wanted to express his feeling that it was hard to find a bosom friend when his life was depressed, thus indirectly expressing his worries about social problems and dissatisfaction with state rulers.

However, the fact that they are in the same situation has raised a feeling of mutual appreciation in Su Shi's heart. In the political reform, the two held the same position. Due to political reasons, they can't display their talents and ambitions, and their anguish can be imagined.

Su Shi is eager to learn.

Su Shi introduced a short story of Su Shi, and the truth derived from this short story is worth pondering and learning.

Su Shi's paintings

Su Shi is from Meishan, Meizhou. When he used to read Biography of Fan Pang, he appreciated Fan Pang's attitude and way of doing things. He is envious of his life and wants to be like him. He has the spirit of being resolute and upright and not giving in to power, so he wants to be that kind of person. So Su Shi asked his mother if he could be like Fan Pang. His mother's day is also a well-read and well-understood person. After listening to his idea, he certainly supported it. He said, "If you can become a person like Fan Pang, I can naturally become a model mother."

Such a statement is tantamount to the best encouragement, and Su Shi is fascinated. Later, Su Shi read widely and had his own understanding of society and all kinds of things. He could write thousands of words every day. I prefer a great man like Jia Yi. Only then did he understand the profound philosophy contained in the Biography of Fan Pang, and he couldn't help sighing. Later, when he read the book Zhuangzi, Su Shi's heart in Huo Ran suddenly became cheerful. He thinks I can't express my thoughts clearly after reading it, and I won't understand until I read this book. This book really won my heart!

As a famous litterateur and great litterateur in Song Dynasty, Su Shi's life was undoubtedly successful. Although there are many unknown twists and turns, his outstanding contributions and achievements are undeniable. And his success is naturally inseparable from his innate talent and his efforts, which is also closely related to his growing environment.

Su Shi's later years

Su Shi (A.D. 1037- A.D.101) was a man of great vision, and he was also called "Dongpo lay man" because he often farmed in the fields later. He has made great achievements in poetry, calligraphy, painting, calligraphy and other fields, and is also one of the representatives of literati with the highest achievements and greatest contributions in the literary history of the Northern Song Dynasty. Su Shi's character is open-minded, frank and serious. He used his own poems to express his understanding of life and his attitude towards society. First of all, from the fourth year of Shen Ning (A.D. 107 1), the imperial court began to change. The political reform and reform made Su Shi somewhat unacceptable. He once talked about the disadvantages of innovation in front of many ministers, because at that time he disagreed with many ministers in the DPRK, so Su Shi had to ask for release many times and become an official in remote areas.

Later, the Wutai Poetry Case of 1080 became a turning point in Su Shi's life. Directly put into prison, almost died several times. Later, Su Dongpo escaped, because Zhao Kuangyin once said that he would not kill a wise man. He was exiled to a remote area like Huangzhou, and for a time he even made a living by farming. It was not until 1084 (the seventh year of Yuanfeng) that he left Huangzhou to take office in Ruzhou. Due to the long distance, lack of funds, and the unfortunate death of his youngest son at that time, all kinds of blows also made Su Shi physically and mentally exhausted. He asked to live in Changzhou and gradually settled down.

Su Dongpo also experienced many ups and downs of officialdom, and gradually became disheartened about officialdom and official career. Unfortunately, in 1097, 62-year-old Su Shi was demoted to Hainan again. It was not until Song Huizong granted amnesty that Su Shi became old and finally died on his way back to China.
