In the early days of liberation, apricot, a good girl who was a grain grower in a town in Liaodong, fell in love with Ding Daming, a long-term worker, but never came together because of the status gap. The Kuomintang garrison was ordered to station a military secret in the town, and the guerrillas led by the Production Party were ordered to understand and destroy this military secret. Ding Daming joined the revolutionary ranks because he helped the guerrillas, and stayed at home to help them complete their tasks secretly.
Dante Daming died heroically in helping guerrillas seize penicillin and rice, and then came back from the dead, which made Xing Shan, who had been kept in the dark, realize his identity and join the revolutionary ranks with him. Even so, the two lovers didn't choose to be together, but married someone else for a pretence to complete their respective tasks. * * * revealed the secret that the garrison was stationed in an arsenal of the Japanese army, but in order to destroy this arsenal, Ding Daming died heroically in the final battle. Under the eyes of the public, when everyone thought he could not live, Ding Daming limped away on crutches.
