Reed is distributed all over China, commonly found in rivers and lakes, along ponds and ditches, and in low wetlands. Reed can adapt to different ecological environments, preferring to be born in swamps, river floodplains and shallow lakes and other environments called wetland reed; distributed in the arid zone oasis farmland periphery, saline and alkaline land, and even some desert areas and other environments called dry reed. Reed reproduction ability is strong, in the appropriate conditions, both seeds, rhizomes and above-ground stems can be planted.
