McDonald's coffee

One day I went to McDonald's for breakfast and ordered a set meal on the self-service ordering machine. Breakfast was soon ready, and I sat down in a seat near the counter.

In winter, McDonald's restaurant has bright lights and sufficient heating. The cheeseburger I ordered was delicious, clean and not greasy. Plus a cup of American coffee, a * * * is only 8 yuan, which makes me feel unspeakable satisfaction.

Just then, I heard a customer at the counter say, "Give me another cup of coffee." The waiter replied, "OK!" Their voices are not loud, but they make me wonder: can I have a free refill of coffee here? Really?

After eating hamburgers, I took an empty cup and asked at the counter. You can get a refill for free! I was hit hard in an instant: lying in the trough, how do I know today! I have had breakfast here for several years. I should drink fewer cups of coffee. Thanks!

In a few days, I will go to McDonald's in the morning. Before ordering, I carefully read the instructions displayed by the ordering machine, ran to the counter and looked at the menu screen above, and then looked back at the poster on the wall, but I didn't find any tips about refilling coffee for free.

Then I asked the waiter, "Can I have another cup of coffee?"

The waiter is very nice and kind: "Yes."

I asked again, very seriously: "I am curious to ask, how do customers know that they can refill their glasses for free?" Where is the explanation? Why can't I find it! "

The waiter was obviously unprepared. After about half a minute, she patiently explained to me that there was a coffee pot on the counter a long time ago, and customers would pour it themselves if they wanted a refill. Because obviously, there is no special signboard. Later, the position was adjusted and the coffee pot was put in the counter. If the customer wants a refill, give the waiter an empty cup.

After that, the waiter didn't seem very satisfied with his answer, and then asked me, "Are there no coffee pots on the counters in other stores?"

I think there may be several customers who have similar experiences with me, or I don't know that coffee refills at McDonald's are free. In order to attract customers, enhance the consumption experience, and thus improve the competitiveness of the brand, businesses should launch a preferential activity (now called welfare). This kind of welfare design is aimed at all customers and should be known to everyone. As for whether this benefit is needed, it is the customer's choice and preference. If some customers don't enjoy the discount because they don't know it, and even realize that they don't have it after seeing other customers get the discount, they will feel unfair and suffer. This effect is inconsistent with the original intention of the merchants.

I wrote this essay only with this example, and I didn't mean to criticize McDonald's. On the contrary, I recognize this brand very much. I like and believe in this "golden arch". Similarly, familymart's Parker coffee can be fortified for free, do you know?

Finally, if you were the manager of McDonald's, what would you do?
