Sulfur soap cannot be used to wash your face.
Sulfur soap is an alkaline soap that is highly irritating and cannot be used on the face to remove acne. The main ingredient of sulfur soap is sulfur, and 5% sulfur detergent is commonly used. Since sulfur is added to the soap base, hydrogen sulfide can be produced during bathing, so it has a bactericidal effect. But long-term application of sulfur soap can have side effects.
Classification of sulfur soap
It is divided into four categories according to color:
Red medicated soap: the most irritating to the skin because its additives are phenolic compounds , mostly red, commonly known as Lysol soap.
Yellow medicated soap: Medicinal soap added with sulfur is yellow and smells sour and irritating.
Brown-green medicated soap: prepared with Chinese herbal extracts, often dark green or dark brown.
White medicated soap: Boric acid medicated soap is usually white, has relatively little irritation, and is the mildest among the four types of medicated soap.
