The "Matrix," "Live and Let Die," "Hellraiser," and "The Fast and the Furious" star is reportedly in talks with Marvel to join The Eternals. If the talks come to fruition, he will star in the movie alongside Angelina Jolie, British actor Richard Madden, South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, and Pakistani-American actor Kumail Nanjiani***.
The Eternals is a Marvel comic book series first created by Jack Kirby in 1976. In this comic, the cosmic Celestials come to Earth and turn it into a genetic testing ground.
They genetically modified the ancient apes, creating three types of ancient man. The first were the Deviants, who hid in caves; the second were the Eternals, who could fly; and the third were the humans.
The Deviants and Eternals became bitter enemies. "The Eternals were treated as gods and defenders of the Earth by humans, while the Eternals went in the opposite direction. Eventually, with the second visit of the gods to Earth to examine the progress of the experiments, most of the anomalies were eliminated, and the memory of this period of history is the legend of the "Sinking of Atlantis".
The movie The Eternals centers on Cersei, a member of the fourth generation of The Eternals. "Cersei is the Greek mythological sorceress Circe, the child of Helius, the god of the sun, and Perseus, the goddess of the seas. In The Odyssey, she turned the Odyssey's crew into pigs and kept him on the island for a whole year.
Cersei, in the Marvel comics, has cosmic powers, such as immortality, invulnerability to weapons, and the ability to manipulate molecules. She lives in New York City, is a socialite, and has a relationship with Captain America, who later persuades her to join the Avengers. But she eventually returned to her normal life and committed suicide, like the other Eternals, during the last visit of the Gods to Earth.
In Marvel's previous movies, viewers have actually met a few Eternals, such as Thanos, but the movie didn't mention the Eternals by name. "
The Eternals are not mentioned in the movie.
The Eternals is a Phase 4 movie in the Marvel Universe (MCU), directed by Chloe Zhao, the Chinese director of The Rider.
The film was originally scheduled to start shooting this August in Atlanta, where Pinewood Atlanta Studios, where many Marvel movies are made, is located. But because of Georgia's anti-abortion bill, many Hollywood companies chose to boycott Georgia and ditched Atlanta as a filming location. Now The Eternals has chosen to open at the Pinewood Studios in London this September.
