Duobao fish is turbot, also called European flounder. Scophthalmus maximus belongs to Scophthalmus, Scophthalmus and Scophthalmus. The main producing area is located on the east coast of the Atlantic Ocean, and it is one of the unique and rare low-temperature economic fish species along the northeast Atlantic Ocean. 1992 was first introduced to China by Huanghai Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and now it has become the main aquaculture species in China, especially in northern China.
Scophthalmus maximus is a cold-temperate, benthic omnivorous fish, which can withstand the water temperature of 1℃~28℃. The male fish generally matures 1 year, while the female fish matures in 2 years. It has the characteristics of fast growth, high meat yield and strong disease resistance. ?

From Iceland in the north to the European coast around Morocco in the south is the natural distribution area of turbot, and the relative production area is located in the waters near the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, Iceland and Navia Peninsula.
Scophthalmus maximus is naturally distributed along the European coast on the east side of the Atlantic Ocean, and is commonly found in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. It is distributed in the waters far from Iceland coast at 68 degrees north latitude, south along the coast of Scandinavia, and all the way to the waters far from Morocco coast at 30 degrees north latitude. It is also distributed along the coast of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, mainly in the North Sea, and inhabits the sea area with sand, gravel or mixed sediment with a water depth of 20-70m.
