What does ice Hu Xinyu mean?
Ice Hu Xinyu is a metaphor for people's purity and innocent feelings.

Wang Changling's "Lotus Inn and Xinjian Break Up" is very famous. One of the famous poems, "Luoyang's relatives and friends ask each other, and a piece of ice heart is in the jade pot", has been circulated in the world for thousands of years. The original text is: cold rain at night, Wu, seeing off guests in Chushan. Friends, if my friends in Luoyang invite me; Just say I'm still Bing Xin Okho, and stick to my faith!

According to the translation of general poems, the last two sentences mean that if my relatives and friends invite me to Luoyang, please tell them that my heart is still as crystal clear and pure as ice in a jade pot.

"Bing Xin" refers to Wang Changling's pure heart at this time, like smooth ice, aboveboard and open-minded. "Jade pot" does not refer to a container made of jade, but actually refers to the Taoist concept of Miao Zhen Taoism, especially the natural inaction and nothingness of the heart, which is a metaphor for people's innocent sentiment.

Historical story:

In 727, Wang Changling Jinshi was awarded the post of secretary of provincial studies. In 734, he passed the imperial examination and continued to be promoted to a captain in Sishui County (now northwest of Xingyang, Henan Province). But then, Wang Changling has been demoted. First demoted to Lingnan, then transferred to Jiangning County in 742. Later, he went directly to Yelang, so that even Li Bai sympathized with his experience and wrote the famous "I heard that Wang Changling moved to Longbiao Kiln and sent it here".

"Furong Inn and Xin Qiji" was written around 742 AD, and Wang Changling came to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province from Lingnan as a county magistrate. Because his life is very rough, he has been demoted many times, and his relatives and friends are very worried about him. As for why he was repeatedly demoted? According to "Old Tang Book", life is informal. Obviously, he was caught by some people, so that small things turned into big things, which made him encounter many bumps.

Facing the anxiety of relatives and friends, Wang Changling comforted relatives and friends with "there is a piece of ice heart in the jade pot" in "The Farewell of Furong Inn and Xin Jian". He means that even if he is slandered, he is aboveboard, open-minded, as crystal clear as the ice of a jade pot, and will never change for the sake of the secular, nor will he give in like unfounded rumors.
