The "half-built house", one of the eight eccentrics in Shaanxi, contains the concept of saving land, building materials, saving energy and keeping warm, and living in harmony with neighbors. Not all houses in Shaanxi are half-built. Shaanxi people divide houses into two categories: "Anjian" and "Xiafang". The "upper room (hall)" and "street room" in the yard belong to "safe room", and the houses on both sides of the yard are "big house (wing room)". It's just that the "mansion" is "half-covered and half-covered".
"Square" and "liberation" are generally three rooms, and the popular design in Shaanxi is "one bright and two dark". The middle house is the living room, with the door facing the yard. The second side is the living room, and the living room door is open. Rainwater flows into our own yard, and there are adjacent communities on both sides of the house. This is not much different from other places.
"Mansion" will be something special, all of which are "half-covered". Compared with double-sided covers, it is still meaningful. First of all, the rain will flow into your own yard, and there will be no neighborhood disputes. In order to avoid this situation, houses built on both sides will leave an alley between two courtyards, or an alley between the house and the courtyard wall. In contrast, "half-built" houses save more land, and "half-built" houses can be seamlessly connected with neighbors' houses. Secondly, in a "half-covered" house, two adjacent "luxury houses" use a wall, which is a "kitchen wall" or a "borrowing wall", which can not only save building materials, but also turn this external wall into an internal wall, improving the thermal insulation and living comfort. In the cold north, you can save a lot of energy.
