Functions and IndicationsExpel wind and activate collaterals, promote dampness and eliminate swelling, and retreat weakness. It is used for rheumatic arthritis, lumbar and leg pain, nephritis and edema, and retreat of deficiency heat; used externally to treat eczema, tinea pedis, and cuts.
Use and dosage 3 to 5 qian. Appropriate amount for external use, freshly pounded on the affected area.
Remarks (1) Cyanotis vaga (Lour.) Roem. et Schult, the root of which is used for medicinal purposes with the former species, has similar efficacy.
