Eating Pipi shrimp is more troublesome than other shrimps, because this somewhat vicious guy has a hard shell and sharp spines on its tail. If you are not careful when eating, you can easily get hurt.
Eating method 1: Use chopsticks to reach the top
Put the shrimp back down, use a chopstick to insert it from the connection between the tail and the trunk of the shrimp, until it reaches the shell. Then insert it upward to the shrimp head. Hold the body of the shrimp with one hand and pry it upward with chopsticks. The belly of the shrimp will be completely separated from the shell, and you can enjoy it.
Although it peels faster and the chance of being pricked by thorns is smaller, the shrimp meat is easily messed up by chopsticks, which may be a bit of a waste.
Eating method 2: Peel it section by section
Peel the shrimp from top to bottom, paying attention to peel it slowly in the direction of the hard spines of the shrimp shell, and peel off one section. Then peel it off around the body of the shrimp, and the entire shrimp meat can be exposed section by section. It is best to peel off the shrimp meat at the tail first with a toothpick, and then pull it out completely, so that a relatively complete shrimp meat will be peeled off.
