Only need a piece of paper to get a lantern Yo, here is the finished product I made ~
The following to share the production process, I hope to be able to bring some reference:
Lonely dark night in a mold of warm colors
One of the materials needed1, slightly thicker paper (Length and width ratio of 4:1), too thin easily damaged, and can not withstand the weight of the later decoration. strong>), too thin easily damaged, but also can not withstand the weight of the later decoration.
2, string or twine
3, tassels or other favorite decorations
4, solid glue
Second, the production process1. Find a discarded paper, I used the Heart Sutra's packaging, it is offset paper , which just happens to have printed brushwork characters, made into a lantern will be very ancient style. Ordinary rice paper is very thin, you can stick another piece of paper on the back if you want to make it with unused rice paper~
2. Fold the paper along the long side with 16 folds, and then cross-fold it along the diagonal with 16 folds, the following is the folded look.?
Example picture, you can draw the auxiliary lines with a pencil before folding
3. Next, fold the longitudinal edges inwards, which will form a sphere.
The inside looks like this
4. Then glue the lanterns together on both sides with solid glue
I used paper with an aspect ratio of 2:1, and cut it open just enough to make two lampshades.
5. Use thicker string or twine to connect the top and bottom of the lantern.
The top half of the lantern is threaded with a handle, the bottom half is threaded with tassels or favorite decorations, and a light source is placed inside the lantern. I used mini strings of lights, or you could use small bulbs or something.
An origami lantern is ready now~
My cat is very curious
On top of that, I also tried making an Origami Butterfly Bookmark, which you can clip in a book, and it's very lifelike and pretty. Again, you can do it with a single sheet of paper~
This is just what I did, and I'll share my tips on how to make it.
I. Materials needed1. Hard paper, length to width ratio 10:6
2. Paint (can be omitted)
II.2. Press the two folds inward along the short side, as shown.
