Piranha's texture is similar to pomfret, the fish body is thicker than white pomfret, the texture is not as delicate as snapper, grouper, but more chewy, the belly of the fish is the most tender meat, the fish skin gelatinous thick.
Brazilian piranha is still frozen for export. Taiwan has imported piranhas.
