Also known as flat bamboo, bamboo grass, polygonum, and ant grass.

Source: It is the above-ground part of Polygonum aviculare L., a plant in the family Polygonaceae.

Plant form: Annual herb, 10-40cm tall, often with white powder; stems are clustered, creeping or ascending, green, grooved, leaves are meridian, linear to lanceolate, 1-4cm long, wide 6~10cm, apex is blunt or acute, base is wedge-shaped, nearly sessile; stipule sheath is membranous, lower part is brown, upper part is white and transparent, with obvious veins. There are 1 to 5 flowers in clusters in the leaf axils, with the stipules exposed. The pedicels are short and jointed at the base; the perianth is 5-deeply lobed, the lobes are oval, dark green, with white or light red edges; 8 stamens; the style is 3-lobed. Achenes are oval, more than 2mm long, with ribbed surface, brown or black, and small inconspicuous dots. The flowering and fruiting period is from May to October.

Born in fields and roadsides. Produced in most parts of the country.

This product It is the dry above-ground part of Polygonum aviculare L., a plant in the Polygonaceae family.

Harvest in summer when the leaves are lush, remove roots and impurities, and dry in the sun. 3.5 Characteristics

The stem of this product is cylindrical and slightly flat, with branches, 15-40cm long and 0.2-0.3cm in diameter.

The surface is grey-green or brown-red, with fine and slightly raised vertical lines; the nodes are slightly enlarged, with light brown membranous stipules, and the internodes are about 3cm long; hard, easy to break, and the cross-section of the medullary Part white.

The leaves are alternate, nearly sessile or with short stalks. The leaves are often shed or shriveled or broken. The intact ones are lanceolate after being flattened, with entire edges, and both sides are brown-green or gray-green.
