The NBASummerLeague refers to a series of competitions that are held in the off-season of NBA and participated by NBA teams. Generally, NBA teams will try a different summer league lineup from the regular season at this time, which will generally include a large number of rookies and sophomores, as well as unsigned free agents (generally excluding big-name free agents) to be inspected by the team. Now there are three events officially recognized by the NBA: Utah Summer League, Orlando Summer League and Las Vegas Summer League. These three events add up to form the NBA Summer League.
Some NBA teams hold their own summer leagues, such as the Pepsi Summer League hosted by Orlando Magic and the Rocky Mountain League hosted by Utah Jazz. Every summer in the NBA, the big-name stars and main players are usually on vacation, but those free players or rookies can't rest at this time. They have to do some antagonistic training in order to gain the trust of the team and attack the team's big list, and the NBA Summer League was born.
