Labuleng Temple is located in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, China, at the transition zone between Gannan Plateau and Loess Plateau, with an altitude of 3,200m.

Labuleng Temple, whose real name is Gadan Xiazhubu Dajiyi Suqibeilang, or Zhaxiqi Temple for short, is one of the six major monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism (that is, Lamaism) in China, commonly known as Labuleng Temple. The first Jiayang Awang Song Zhe was founded in the forty-eighth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1709). In the fifty-third year of Kangxi (17 14), "Zhanzhang" (jamyang Buddha Hall) was established, and the sound of "Zhanzhang" was changed to "Labrang", which means the highest living Buddha residence in the temple.
