The Unicorn Fairy, scientifically known as the "bifurcated rhinoceros tortoise", is an insect of the genus Rhinoceros tortoise in the subfamily Rhinoceros tortoise of the family Rhinoceros tortoise, so called because of the well-developed frontal horns of the male.
Distributed in eastern and southern China, as well as Japan, Thailand and other places, mostly inhabiting in evergreen or deciduous broad-leaved forests, the larvae rely on the understory of decomposed soil or decaying wood formed by the humus to feed on, so the native nature of the forest is more demanding. In China, it is listed in the List of Beneficial or Economically and Scientifically Important Terrestrial Wild Animals under State Protection. It has high ornamental and medicinal value and is often kept as a pet.
