What is eczema?
Eczema is indeed a kind of skin inflammation with relatively complicated etiology. Even some parents don't know why their children get eczema. As the children grow up slowly, eczema will heal itself.
Five-month-old Xiangxiang's face has a lot of red and prominent rashes, and the surrounding skin is still a little red and swollen, and the skin looks dry and peeling, and Xiangxiang scratches it with her hands every day. Later, I went to see a doctor. The doctor said that it was eczema and opened a Youzhuoer. It was good to rub it for a few days.
There is a child in the community who obviously has a rash that is not the same as Xiangxiang. The rash is relatively small, with some yellowish oily liquid covering the rash and some thick yellow crusts. Mingming's mother said that the child seems to be unable to scratch, and it may not be particularly itchy.
And Xiangxiang's mother said: You are definitely not eczema. Eczema, like Xiangxiang in our family, will be very dry, peeling and itchy.
But then I went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with eczema. The doctor also prescribed Youzhuo, but it was all right after a week or so.
Why is the diagnosis and treatment the same when the symptoms are obviously different?
Others are like our colds, some are mainly coughs, some people are mainly runny noses, and some people just have a little fever and headache. The same disease may have different symptoms.
Eczema is a common skin disease in infants and there are three types in clinic:
Dry type:
Eczema like Xiangxiang is a typical dry eczema. It seems that the skin is a little scary, red and swollen, and there will be chaff-like desquamation and dry scab, and children will scratch their skin constantly, which may cause secondary infection if they are not careful, so it is also very important to prevent children from scratching.
Seborrheic type:
Like Mingming, it is seborrheic eczema, the skin is flushed, and the light yellow fatty liquid oozing from the maculopapular rash covers the rash, and it may form a thick yellow scab. It looks a little oily.
Exudation type:
This type likes the fat doll best. There are water sores and erythema between the red rashes. In severe cases, skin tissue will swell, and this will be itchy. After scratching, yellow serosity will ooze or even bleed. The rash on the face can spread to the trunk, limbs and the whole body, and it is easy to cause secondary skin infection.
Note: macula refers to a red rash that does not protrude from the skin surface, and papule refers to a rash that protrudes from the skin surface (within 1 cm).
Don't treat prickly heat as eczema
There are many skin diseases in infancy, and some parents confuse prickly heat with eczema.
1, prickly heat usually appears in summer, but the cause of eczema is more complicated, and it is more common in autumn, winter and spring.
2, prickly heat is independent one by one, and eczema is generally more United and connected.
3, prickly heat will be gone if the air conditioner is turned on to cool down, and eczema will be more serious if the air conditioner is turned on because of less air moisture.
4, eczema is generally in the scalp, forehead, auricle and other places, while the prickly heat is in the sweaty head, neck and back.
5, prickly heat is transient, the weather is cool, but eczema is recurrent, and it will be better when the child grows up slowly.
