The full version of the lyrics of Red Bean is shown below.
I haven't felt the climate of snowflakes.
When we tremble together, we will know more about gentleness.
I haven't held hands with you and walked through the deserted sand dunes.
Maybe from now on, learn to cherish eternity.
sometimes, sometimes, I believe that everything has an end.
sometimes, nothing will last forever.
but sometimes, I'd rather miss it than let it go.
Maybe you will accompany me to see the long flowing water when the scenery is completely seen.
I haven't boiled the red beans into a lingering wound for you.
then share it together, and you will understand the sadness of lovesickness better.
I haven't felt the tenderness of waking up and kissing yet.
it may be around me that you pursue the freedom of loneliness.
sometimes, sometimes, I believe that everything has an end.
sometimes, nothing will last forever.
the background of red beans
Red beans is a song written by lin xi, composed by Liu Zhongyan and sung by Faye Wong. It was included in Faye Wong's album Singing Tour released in 1998. In 1999, it won the Hong Kong Top Ten Chinese Golden Melody Award.
When composing Red Bean, composer Liu Zhongyan imagined how Faye Wong would sing according to her voice. Because he admired Faye Wong's voice very much, he wrote the song in a few minutes and broke his own record of fastest song writing.
lin xi, the lyricist of this song, saw a Japanese drama on TV when she was writing. In the drama, the heroine cooked red beans, so she boiled them because she wanted to say goodbye. Therefore, lin xi thought about the lyrics while following the plot, thus creating the song "Red Bean".
