According to the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, in order to implement the food safety law and strengthen the leadership of food safety work, on February 6, 20 10, it was decided to establish the Food Safety Committee of the State Council as a high-level deliberation and coordination body for food safety work in the State Council.
The Food Safety Committee of the State Council established the Office of the Food Safety Committee of the State Council, and Bi Jingquan, director of the State Food and Drug Administration, served as the director of the Office of the Food Safety Committee of the State Council, specifically undertaking the daily work of the Committee.
The National Food Safety Standards Review Committee was established by the Ministry of Health in accordance with the Food Safety Law and its implementing regulations. The first National Food Safety Standards Review Committee was elected by experts in medicine, agriculture, food and nutrition and representatives from relevant departments in the State Council. In the early stage, the Constitution of the Review Committee has been drafted, and the organizational structure and working rules of the Review Committee have been clarified, aiming at giving full play to the role of multidisciplinary experts, ensuring technical and policy clearance for the formulation of national food safety standards, and doing a good job in the review of national food safety standards according to law.
Main responsibilities:
Analysis of food safety situation, research and deployment, overall guidance of food safety work; Put forward major policies and measures for food safety supervision; Supervise the implementation of food safety supervision responsibility.
Previous meetings:
The first plenary meeting of the Food Safety Committee of the State Council was held in Beijing on February 9, 20 10. 20 10/month 20th, the inaugural meeting of the first national food safety standards review committee was held in Beijing. Chen Zhu, Minister of Health, served as the chairman of the first National Food Safety Standards Review Committee. The second plenary meeting of the Food Safety Committee of the State Council was held in Beijing on 29 October, 20 15.
