Notice on the closure of Nanchan Temple during the Wuxi epidemic

Nanchan Temple is a popular temple attraction in Wuxi. However, due to the recent impact of the epidemic, Wuxi Nanchan Temple will be temporarily closed to the public in August. Please see below for details of the Nanzenji Temple closure notice. Friends in Wuxi should try not to go out for activities during the epidemic. Introduction to Nanchan Temple Scenic Area

Although Nanchan Temple is not big, it is very popular. The historical district built along the Wuxi Ancient Canal is connected to the temple. The Miaoguang Pagoda in the temple is very prominent among the buildings with pink walls and black tiles. It is conspicuous and a landmark in this area. After worshiping Buddha at the temple, you can go shopping nearby and eat delicious food. The night view here is also worth seeing.

Nanchan Temple was built in the early years of the Taiqing Dynasty (AD 547) by Emperor Liang Wu of the Southern Dynasties. It has been renovated and destroyed many times by subsequent generations. The temple we see now was renovated in the 1980s and 1990s.

The gate of the temple is at the south end, and there are only a few buildings such as the Main Hall on the north-south central axis. The Miaoguang Tower on the east side is 7 stories high. From the tower, you can look at the connected roofs of the antique buildings below and overlook the Nanzenji Pier on the south side of the ancient canal. It feels like a picture of the ancient canal is unfolding before your eyes. Important notice

This once again sounds the alarm for us, and epidemic prevention and control cannot be carried out without success. Without any slack or luck, in order to continue to consolidate the prevention and control results that have been achieved, following notification from superior departments, Wuxi Nanchan Temple will suspend opening to the public from 17:30 on August 1, 2021.
