The Original Text and Appreciation of Qingming Du Mu
Du Mu

A drizzling rain falls like tears on the Mourning Day; The mourner's heart is going to break on his way.

Ask the local people where to buy wine and worry? The shepherd boy laughed and did not answer the apricot mountain village.

This poem was written by Du Mu when he was the secretariat of Chizhou (now Guichi, Anhui Province). It has been widely circulated for thousands of years. The Qingming Festival is just in the spring of March, with colorful flowers and bright spring. However, sometimes it will drizzle one after another. The first sentence is written by such a kind of weather that is easy to make people sad. The second sentence is followed by "pedestrians on the road" in the drizzle. "Looking for the move, the heart is also shaking", and the word "broken soul" describes the emotional situation of "pedestrians on the road" in the rain wind film. A word "desire" is very measured, which means that it is difficult to be affectionate until the soul is broken. His lyrical graceful songs are enjoyable, which is beyond the reach of those who have a deep understanding.

Three or four sentences are open-ended, and the form of question and answer is used to express feelings and freehand brushwork. "Excuse me, where is the restaurant?" Who did not say, it seems to be the poet himself, but it might as well be a "pedestrian". Who is the interviewee? Bring it out from the answer. What did you answer? "Pointing at Xinghua Village", there is no language, but a clear action, which can be described as "told even more in silence than they had told in sound". Whether "Xinghua Village" is the name of a village or a restaurant is not explained in the poem, leaving readers with a vast space of imagination. From the poetic point of view, this poem pushes away the strong sad atmosphere of "wanting to break the soul" brought by "rain after rain", and makes the whole poem naturally turn to a new realm full of vitality.

This poem is very picturesque. The poem shows a amorous feelings painting in the Qingming period in the south of the Yangtze River. Through the rain curtain, you can see the swaying figure, and then the image of the poet is superimposed. He asks where the shepherd boy hotel is, and the shepherd boy points to the distance to answer. The poet's layers of scenery are colored everywhere, and a natural interest emerges. Xie Zhen's comment on this poem as "showing the painting in a natural way" (Volume I of Four styles of Poetry) is quite insightful. It should also be pointed out that the two feelings between the first two sentences and the last sentence of this poem-the worry of leakage and the deep joy, and the two colors-dark and bright, cool and hot, are very natural, showing a generous and free style. This is not only related to the poet's open mind, but also inseparable from his high language art. All four sentences in the poem are scattered words, and the clever wording of the third sentence, which connects the preceding with the following, contributes to the harmony and fluency between the preceding and following sentences and creates a generous and free-spirited style.
