Many people in Qidong, Haimen and Tongzhou speak a dialect different from other areas in Nantong. They are called sandmen. If it is handed down from generation to generation, why is it different from the surrounding areas? It turns out that about 300-400 years ago, in the early Qing Dynasty, sediment accumulated on the north bank of the Yangtze River, forming a large amount of land, and a large number of immigrants came here to farm. According to the examination, most of them come from Shanghai, Suzhou, Jiaxing and Huzhou in the south of the Yangtze River.

As far as I know, the farmers who may migrate in this area are not well educated, but they are hardworking, brave, kind and simple. Now the three dialects are gradually lost. The children are fluent in Mandarin, and they may understand some of it, but then they will really be lost.

On a clearer picture, the yellow area is the distribution area of Qihai dialect, such as Rudong Pingfang, Tongzhou Sanyu, Nanhai Gate, Nantong Development Zone and South Qidong. Yancheng has a large population outflow, and investors from all directions have come to Yancheng to make progress, bringing together dialects with different local characteristics, forming Yancheng dialect with local characteristics, which has a strong flavor of hometown and turns some words into a cordial greeting. It represents Yancheng, a city named after salt, which cannot fade. An open place and an unforgettable city, that is our "Great Yancheng, our home"! Yancheng locals sometimes refuse to give in to fate and move to other places, while Yancheng used to be sparsely populated, endless wasteland and deserted. It used to be a place where rabbits didn't shit. Thin saline-alkali beaches, thatch and reeds floated in the wind. I remember when I was a child, my family moved from Funing to Sheyang. There are only a dozen families in the village where we live. They farm land. Gradually, more and more people moved here from all over the world, including people from other provinces, northerners from Haimen, Xinghua, Taizhou and Nantong, who lived and worked in peace and contentment and cultivated crops here.

Take Sheyang as an example. There are many people in Haimen, Hebei, and Huangsha, Henan, and most of them have local accents. A group of people drives a group of people to live here. Yancheng's ancestral home is not all local people, but they gather here with different dialects. The real Haimen people speak Haimen dialect, and you can't understand a word. When you communicate with us, you learn the local accent, so foreign things are mixed with soil, and all kinds of accents from south to north come out. In Yancheng, most people are arrogant, while the accent of Funing people in Binhai is awkward. Many people say it is potato accent. However, the accent in central Yancheng is a little different. It's really a collection of talents, reflecting the local characteristics of Yancheng.
