The old city is located in the northernmost part of Weixin County. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 2 1.24km, the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 13.72km, and the total area is163.97km2. The terrain in the central and western regions is relatively low. The highest point is Luohanlin at the junction of Tianpeng Village and Gaotian Township in the southeast, with an altitude of1805.8m.. The lowest point is Shunshan at the exit of Malong Village, Luobu River, with an altitude of 480 meters (the lowest in the county). The old town where the town government is located is 40 kilometers away from the county highway. The climate is hot and rainy, with annual average temperature 16.9 degrees Celsius, annual average precipitation 1457.2 mm and sunshine time 1032 hours. The forest land area of the town is 8897 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is 53.2%. Known as "land of plenty" and "hundred-mile forest". The old city is rich in land and products, including Alsophila spinulosa, Ginkgo biloba and Taxus chinensis, which are first-class protected plants in the country, and giant salamander, a second-class protected aquatic wild animal in the country. There are well-preserved ancient city gates of Ming Dynasty, mysterious hanging coffins in old caves, endless star national forest park, simple Miao village customs, memorial to the Red Army martyrs, and guillotine built in Qing Dynasty.
