Notes from a Little Chinese Medicine Practitioner: Conditioning of Common Physical Conditions

Many people keep in good health but don’t know how to keep in good health.

First of all, many times we take care of our physique first, because our physique can be regulated.

Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes the concept of a balanced constitution. I won’t go into detail about a balanced constitution. After all, there are not many such people.

Let’s talk about phlegm-dampness constitution first.

People with phlegm-dampness constitution mostly suffer from spleen deficiency and obstruction of the movement and transformation of water and grain essence, resulting in retention of dampness and turbidity. This is due to congenital inheritance, acquired overeating, and the accumulation of water and dampness after illness. In treatment, it can strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, and resolve phlegm and purge turbidity. Those who are sick and have phlegm should be treated with warm medicine. Generally, I use Shenling Baizhu Powder, Linggui Zhugan Decoction, and Linggan Wuwei Jiangxin Decoction for treatment.

People with phlegm-dampness constitution can use medicines to warm and unblock yang during conditioning. Because dampness is a yin evil and its nature is sticky, it is better to warm and unblock yang. It can be added according to the needs of the condition. Cinnamon twig, Magnolia officinalis, dried ginger, fairy spleen, psoralen, etc., but it is necessary to prevent excessive heat, the water will be burned, and the heat will change. Therefore, sometimes cold and warm can be used during treatment. In addition, phlegm Dampness and viscosity can easily block Qi movement, often causing blood stasis and forming phlegm and blood stasis. Therefore, people with long-term phlegm-dampness can add some blood-activating medicine. In addition, some moisturizing medicines can also stagnate dampness and produce phlegm, so they should be used with caution. It is advisable to eat less fatty, sweet, and greasy food in daily diet. Therefore, people with a phlegm-damp constitution should not eat greasy ointments and the like. .

People with a damp-heat constitution often have incomprehensible accumulation of damp-heat, which is caused by innate endowment or long-term living in wetlands. It can be divided into methods of eliminating dampness and turbidity, clearing and subduing fire. You can use Longdan Xiegan Pills, Ganlu Disinfectant Pill, Sanren Decoction, etc. I personally like to use Sanren Tang.

Dampness and heat need a way out, and Sanren Decoction contains some tonics, such as Akebia, bamboo leaves, coix seed, etc., which can make the heat leak out from below. In addition, people with dampness and heat constitution have already It’s wet and hot, so use pungent and warm products with caution to help the fire, and some supplements tend to be warm and dry, so don’t take them randomly. It’s better to quit smoking and limit alcohol, and eat less spicy and spicy food. In summer, you can eat some mung bean soup. Eat it regularly. Eat fruits and vegetables to keep your bowels regular.

Qi-depressed constitution

People with Qi-depressed constitution often have qi-organ stagnation, the formation of which is related to congenital inheritance and acquired emotional injuries. It is a method to soothe the liver and promote qi, and relieve its stagnation. Representative prescriptions include Xiaoyao Powder, Bupleurum Shugan Powder, Yueju Pills, etc. I personally like to use Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder, because many patients with Qi depression will become depressed and turn into heat.

Many medicines that soothe the liver and relieve depression are too dry, so some soft and nourishing medicines are needed. However, medicines that nourish yin may cause greasiness, so the medicines should not be harsh. In addition, patients with qi depression have many emotional problems and must pay full attention to mental regulation. Therefore, keeping a happy mood is as important as taking medicine.

People with Qi deficiency will have weak multiple Qi. The main causes are congenital deficiency, acquired malnutrition or Qi deficiency after illness. It can strengthen vitality, nourish qi and strengthen the spleen. The representative prescriptions are Sijunzi Decoction, Buzhong Yiqi Decoction, etc.

People with qi deficiency constitution should control the dosage and not take excessive supplements, because medicines that are too tonic are prone to stagnation, so they are generally combined with medicines that promote qi and regulate qi. In addition, many people advocate ginseng as a tonic. This is true. However, excess Qi means fire. Be careful not to overdo it. Of course, a single ginseng now costs at least several thousand, so it is better to use some traditional Chinese medicine to regulate it. The effect will not be as good as Ginseng is good, and the main price is also affordable. In addition, where evil gathers, the qi must be deficient. Therefore, patients with qi deficiency are prone to symptoms of mixed deficiency and excess. This should be taken into consideration, and both strengthening and exorcism can be used.

People with yang deficiency constitution have insufficient multiple yangs, which may be due to insufficient innate endowment, such as old and frail parents who have children in their later years, or insufficient vitality due to improper maternal care during pregnancy; or due to acquired disorders and improper feeding. Nutritional deficiencies; or internal injuries due to fatigue after middle age, sexual indiscretion, and progressive yang and kidney failure in old age. It is a method to nourish the kidneys and warm yang, and replenish the source of fire. Representative prescriptions are Jingui Shenqi Pills, Yougui Pills, etc. I personally like to use some Shenqi pills with the four flavors of kidney combined with Shaohuoqi.

I have also written an article that some people are not suitable for Junbu, so they need to be less angry. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, in patients with yang deficiency, yang may damage yin, resulting in deficiency of both yin and yang. When using medicine, the yin and yang must be balanced. Avoid warming yang too much, which may consume blood and damage body fluids, leading to dryness and heat.

Therefore, for people with yang deficiency, they should be slowly warmed, slowly replenished, and slowly treated. For some diseases, traditional Chinese medicine is only effective, but for some diseases, traditional Chinese medicine still needs to be slowly adjusted. In addition, the spleen and stomach also need to be paid attention to, including the conditioning of each constitution, which needs to take into account the spleen and stomach. The spleen and stomach govern transportation and transformation. If the spleen and stomach are not good, transportation and transformation are not good, even if you take a panacea, it will not help.

People with blood stasis tend to have stagnant blood vessels, which are mostly caused by congenital inheritance, acquired injuries, improper daily life, long-term illness and blood stasis. The method is to activate blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and dredge the collaterals. Representative prescriptions include Taohong Siwu Decoction, Guizhi Fuling Pills, etc. For patients with blood stasis, Wang Qingren has Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, Diaphragm Zhuyu Decoction, etc. I generally use this one more.

Stagnation of qi will lead to blood stasis, while movement of qi will lead to smooth blood flow. Therefore, when promoting blood circulation, Qi-regulating medicine is often added. I like to add Sini Powder, etc. For some serious blood stasis, it is still necessary to add flesh and blood products. Mr. Zhu Liangchun explained the insect-drug-drug in detail, so I won’t show off. Of course, there are many causes of blood stasis, so depending on the situation, you can nourish yin, warm yang, or replenish qi, etc.

People with yin deficiency tend to have insufficient true yin. The causes are related to congenital weakness, acquired chronic illness, blood loss, and Yin damage due to overwork. It is used to nourish kidney yin, strengthen water and control fire. Liuwei Dihuang Pills and Zuogui Pills were given.

Yin deficiency produces internal heat, such as yin deficiency and excessive fire. Therefore, nourishing yin should be used together with the heat-clearing method. That is, nourishing yin can also remove heat, and clearing heat can preserve yin. In addition, insufficient true yin may involve deficiency of essence, blood, body fluid, and liquid. Therefore, while regulating yin deficiency, pay attention to combining prescriptions that replenish essence, nourish blood, and nourish yin. In addition, as I said last time, many yin-nourishing medicines are soft and greasy. Taking them for a long time can easily damage the spleen and yang, and can easily cause sluggish stomach, abdominal distension and diarrhea. You can add agarwood, amomum villosum and other products that regulate qi, strengthen the spleen and eliminate gastrointestinal tract. .

Speciality is a special physical state caused by congenital or genetic factors. Some congenital factors may not be effective, especially some hereditary diseases or physiological defects. Generally, there is no special treatment method. But for some people with allergies, traditional Chinese medicine has good methods. Representative prescriptions for adjusting allergies are Yupingfeng Powder, Xiaofeng Powder, Allergic Jian, etc.
