It calms the nerves, lowers inverse conditions, calms the liver and subdues yang, and stops bleeding. It can replace ocher. It is a liver-calming and wind-relieving medicine in traditional Chinese medicine. Prescription names: substitute ocher, butyric ocher, burnt ocher. Meridian distribution of nature and flavor: bitter, cold. Returns to the liver and heart meridian. Medicinal effects: calm the liver and subdue yang, reduce adverse effects and stop bleeding. Clinical application: 1. Headache and dizziness. Treats inflammation of liver fire, dizziness, heat and pain in the brain caused by hyperactivity of liver yang. 2. Vomiting, hiccups, wheezing. Treats weak stomach Qi, internal obstruction of phlegm, and vomiting. 3. Vomiting blood and nose bleeding. Metrorrhagia and bleeding. Commonly used dosage: 10--30 grams. When used as a decoction, it should be decoctioned first. It is better to use it raw to reduce nihilism and calm the liver, and it is better to use it in a calcined form to stop bleeding. Note on use: This product is bitter and cold, so it should be used with caution by those with cold syndrome and pregnant women.
