Brownie is a cake snack.

Brownie is a square chocolate baked cake dessert. Depending on the composition density, brownies come in many forms, which may have a moister texture or a cake-like dryer texture. Ingredients include hazelnuts, icing sugar, cream cheese, chocolate chips, etc. Another variation is the golden brownie, or brownie, which uses brown sugar and vanilla instead of chocolate.

Legend has it that the invention of the brownie is related to Bertha Parma, a well-known Chicago socialite, whose husband is the owner of the Parma Hilton Hotel. In 1893, Bertha Palma asked the hotel chef for a snack suitable for ladies attending the Chicago World's Fair. She hopes that this snack, which is slightly smaller than a cake, can be packed in a lunch box.

Finally, the Parma Hotel invented brownies containing walnuts and pan-apricot jam. To this day, the Palma Hilton Hotel still serves customers brownies made with this recipe. The name of the brownie was not given until later.

The first use of "Brownie" as a typical name to describe a brownie was in 1896 by Fannie. Farmer wrote a Boston Cooking School cookbook based on a version of honey cake baked in a single tin mold. At that time, Farmer's version of brownies did not contain chocolate.
