Smoke in Beijing is a novel written by Lin Yutang in English from August 1938 to August 1939 when he lived in Paris. The English name is Moment in Peking, which was translated into Chinese, and this book was translated into Instant Beijing, 1939. Clouds in Peking tells the story of Yuan Shikai's usurpation, restoration, Zhifeng War, warlord regime, May 4th Movement, March 18th Massacre, "Silk School" and "Modern Critics School" from the Boxer Rebellion of 190 1 to War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression for more than 30 years.
